Akamai Recovery Maui is proud to have received its CARF Accreditation in 2017 for Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions Programs: Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, and Outpatient Treatment.

Our group sessions are conducted by certified substance abuse counselors (CSAC) who educate our clients using evidence-based treatment lessons, while discussing topics which include crisis and relapse prevention, stress reduction, conflict resolution, relaxation and coping skills. Every client's treatment plan is individualized to meet their specific treatment needs and reviewed weekly by our clinical team. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is available for eligible clients.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
3 days per week for 12 weeks
AM Group: 9am - 12noon
PM Group: 1pm - 4pm
Eve Group: 5pm - 8pm

A highly structured program to support the recovery process for clients who have not received previous treatment. The client may have issues which include multiple arrests, inconsistent employment, health and relationship problems. Emphasis is placed on reducing the denial of addiction, motivating the client to accept help and recovery support, attain life skills such as communication, decision making, relaxation, crisis prevention and conflict resolution. Clinical review with the client determines their completion date.  After successful completion of the Intensive Outpatient Program, many of our clients continue their sober support in our Relapse Prevention program which meets once per week.

Day Treatment Program
5 days per week for 6 weeks
(30 treatment days)
9am - 4pm

This group program is designed for maximum support to assist those who need a higher level of care than Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). These clients meet the criteria for our Intensive Outpatient Program, but benefit from increased individual attention, and more intensive group therapy. Our program offers many of the same services, benefits, and effectiveness as residential (inpatient) treatment, but costs less. Another positive aspect of our day treatment program is that clients can return to their living arrangement during evenings and weekends. This program is also suitable for clients who need continued structure and support after transitioning from a residential program.

Low Intensive Outpatient Program
2 days per week
3 hours per session

Generally, the client was successful with prior treatment, but experienced a recent relapse. Our program emphasizes continued sobriety, abstinence, and positive coping skills to avoid another alcohol or other drug-related arrest or problem. The average length for this program is twelve weeks.

Relapse Prevention (After Care Program)
1 day per week
3 hours per session

This group program is designed for clients who successfully completed a recovery program, and would like continued support with their abstinence.
